The 40th anniversary of IFDF High Tatras

Dear lovers of the water world, water and underwater filmmakers and photographers, Here we are providing you with the initial information about the 40th jubilee edition of the International Festival of Diving Films and Photography, which this year will return to the place in the High Tatras where it was held at its founding: Tatranská Lomnica. It remains a traditionally autumn event, from Thursday 2 October 2025 to Sunday 5 October 2025.
The venue will be the Hotel SOREA TITRIS. Also, as tradition dictates, on Friday, October 3, 2025 festival participants who hold diving certifications will have the opportunity to dive into selected Tatra lakes and help maintain the cleanliness of the water environment of the Tatra National Park by retrieving submerged litter during the Clean Waters event. New to the filmmaking competition is the inclusion of a new competition category: Films about Water, which will significantly expand the possibilities of submitting film works by non-diving authors as well as divers. In the jubilee edition of the festival, we will create a festive atmosphere for you through the participation of interesting guests and as well an expanded programme for those who do not feel like sitting in the cinema all the time watching films. Please note that the deadline for entries, including delivery of film works, is 5 September 2025 and for photographs is 15 September 2025. We look forward to your participation and meeting you.

Clear water
The event is a voluntary part of the MFPF, during which divers, using their own diving equipment, clean the bottoms of selected lakes from garbage after the tourist season.
